Commissioning and Controls Engineer / impco.com
Nov 2016 - Dec 2019

Neuteq Europe Limited offer world leading solutions in Microfinishing, Robotic Automation and Research and Development to automotive manufacturers. Manufacturing a full range of Microfinishing OEM solutions, Neuteq produce machines capable of producing hundreds of components an hour, or smaller more flexible batches.

I joined Neuteq in late 2016 as a Commissioning Engineer; shortly after joining I was given the role of Commissioning and Controls Engineer. My primary function within Neuteq has been to commission microfinishing and automation machines out in the field as well as at base, this has required me to work alone across Europe, Russia, China and in South America.

Typical projects at Neuteq were automation installations where there would be a requirement to utilise 7-axis’ as well as networking of machine status and production values to the customers own factory network including machine modifications were the requirement could be the addition of a robot part handling system. Automation formed a huge part of this role.

Systems Engineer / incotech.co.uk
Sep 2011 - Nov 2016

Incotech specialise in the supply of industrial automation equipment to a wide range of industries including the automotive, research and development, military and pharmaceutical industries. They offer completely bespoke systems with all mechanical, electrical and pneumatic design done in house as well as all software written in house. The equipment manufactured varies but typically can be end of line test equipment through to complex assembly.

I began my employment at Incotech Ltd as an Electrical Craft Apprentice in 2011. In late 2012, I was moved into the systems engineering department where I remained as a Systems Engineer until late 2016. I was responsible for control systems design (electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic) and PLC software development from scratch. I was required to ultimately lead projects from initial enquiry through to delivery in a project management role. Breakdowns of other OEM’s equipment came under my remit and I was expected to react as quickly as possible to breakdown calls to attempt to bring equipment back online, this is a challenge that I enjoyed.
